Beyoncé has never been one to forget a moment or a fan who leaves a mark on her heart.
During her Cowboy Carter tour stop on Saturday (July 5), Queen Bey reminded us all just how good her memory is. During her show, she gave a sweet and hilarious shoutout to one of her most iconic supporters: “Anthony Cosby-Knowles” — and the hyphen is not silent.
Cosby, a certified legend in the Bey Hive, shared the moment on Instagram with a video that showed the Grammy-winning superstar spotting him in the crowd. Without missing a beat, she smiled and made her way down the stage, saying, “Come on Anthony. I see you, cousin. Husband.” He also held up a hilarious sign that said, “I’m still yo husband.”
For those unfamiliar, Anthony first captured Beyoncé’s attention way back during her 2009 I Am… World Tour when he famously introduced himself in the middle of a concert as “Anthony Cosby Hyphen Knowles.”
When Bey playfully asked if he was her cousin, he hit back with, “I’m your husband!” before belting out the lyrics to the classic Destiny’s Child song. That iconic exchange — which made its way into the official live music video for “Say My Name” — instantly made him a fan-favorite and a permanent part of Beyoncé fandom culture.
Even Ms. Tina got in on the fun at the show, posting a photo of Cosby holding a sign with his name and captioning it, “Well!! My imagination son-in-law finally showed up again.”
The moment was a light-hearted change from a tense moment at a previous show in June, when Beyoncé had to halt her performance mid-air during “16 Carriages.” Due to technical issues with her infamous suspended car, her prop made her sit sideways (literally) in the air as they lowered her to safety.
Ever the pro, Bey calmly paused the show and reassured the crowd, thanking them for their patience with grace.
