Birdman found himself going viral after appearing to take an unexpected nap during the Hot Boys reunion show.
Footage of the moment made its rounds online on Tuesday (Feb. 25), showing the Cash Money mogul standing on stage behind Turk before his head suddenly drops. He appeared to be motionless for about 15 seconds. It wasn’t until B.G. nudged him that the 56-year-old snapped out of his daze, laughing it off and seamlessly continuing the performance.
While Birdman has yet to address the incident, the clip has sparked concern among fans, with many speculating the cause of his unusual behavior. “Bro ain’t sleep. He geeked,” one social media user wrote. Another added, “Time to go ahead put the cup down unc. Do it for Ms Gladys.”
Birdman is currently on the road with Lil Wayne and the rest of the Hot Boys for their special 3-date reunion tour that kicked off earlier this month in Tampa. The legendary Cash Money crew is set to wrap up the run in St. Louis on Friday (Feb. 28). Their latest string of performances follows a major reunion at Wayne’s LilWeezyana Fest last November, marking the first time all four Hot Boys members shared the stage since 2000. They were joined by Mannie Fresh and Birdman, bringing back that nostalgic energy.
However, their Essence Festival appearance months prior was less than unified.
Lil Wayne didn’t take the stage until after B.G. and Juvenile—accompanied by Mannie and Birdman—had already wrapped their set. Turk was absent altogether, citing “business” complications leading up to the event. Wayne delivered a 20-minute solo set doing all of his Young Money hits, with the Cash Money logo noticeably disappearing from the screen for YMCMB.
After Wayne exited the stage, his former groupmates returned for a closing performance without Juvenile. “I’m here on behalf of Young Money f**king Records,” Wayne declared during his set, clarifying the divide.
