Candace Owens has reflected on being “embarrassed” by her support of President Donald Trump. As a guest on Tuesday’s (June 24) episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, the political commentator explained why she regretted endorsing Trump for a second term in the White House.
“First and foremost, just on the MAGA movement level, Trump came out and he gave us a promise that we are not going to be involved in wars,” exclaimed Owens. “I am with the MAGA people who grew up, I call us generation 9/11, who were told that America was going to be safer, cleaner, all we had to do was agree to go to, ironically, war with Iraq because of weapons of mass destruction.”
She continued, “It’s all of the same rhetoric dating back to 9/11, all of the same tactics who are trying to smear people who are against this war as supporting jihadists,” adding, “It is not my business to affect a regime change in Iran. It’s simply not our business.”
Owens continued to detail her opinion that Trump is allowing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu to dictate United States foreign policy and that Israel is a “terrorist state” that is “imparting a genocide and a holocaust on the Gazan people.”
“He’s been a chronic disappointment. And I feel embarrassed that I told people to go vote for him because this wasn’t going to happen, and it is happening,” explained the 36-year-old of Trump’s actions. “I don’t know where we go from here, but this is not the candidate I voted for.”
This is not Owens’ first public critique of POTUS. Last week, the conservative commentator declared, “Trump is betraying MAGA,” on The Stephen A. Smith show.
“Let’s be clear right now. The people applauding Donald Trump are Megan McCain, Ted Cruz….Ted Cruz ran against Donald Trump and John McCain with his dying breath, was a Never-Trumper. I remember Megan McCain standing at his funeral saying, ‘this country was always great, it never needed to be made great again,’ to take a stab at Trump even as she was giving words for her father, which is remarkable,” shared Owens.
“If Trump is aligning himself with the people that didnt support him and the people that did support him are saying what he is doing is wrong, that doesn’t mean that MAGA betrayed Trump, that means that Trump is betraying MAGA.”
The mother of four continued, “I still don’t regret voting for him against Kamala Harris because I still believe he was the better candidate, but this is a betrayal. Plain and simple. There’s no other way to say that.”

According to Newsweek, Trump’s approval rating has hit an all-time low as of Wednesday. The outlet reported that the latest Gallup poll, conducted between June 2-19 among 1,000 adults, shows that Trump’s net approval rating stands at -17 points, with 40 percent approving and 57 percent disapproving, down from -10 points in May.
Additionally, according the latest American Research Group poll, conducted June 17-20 among 1,100 adults, Trump’s net approval rating hit -21 points, with 38 percent approving and 59 percent disapproving, down from a low of -14 points in the previous poll conducted in May.
