Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura has announced that she is expecting her third child with her husband, Alex Fine.
The couple confirmed the news on Wednesday (Feb. 19) via Instagram with a photo featuring their two daughters. Cassie shared a series of monochromatic photos featuring Fine, 31, and their children Frankie, 5 and Sunny, 3.
“[Pregnant emoji and blue heart] #3,” the “Me & U” singer captioned the post, hinting that they may be expecting a boy. Fine reposted the images on his own account, writing, “Best gift I could ask for.”
Following The Fine’s pregnancy announcement, fans flooded the comments with congratulatory messages. One user wrote, “This literally gave me chills. I have never been happier for someone I have never personally met. Congrats to you guys! May you continue to receive all the happiness your heart and soul not only desires, but all that you deserve!”
Another wrote, “Living the life you deserve, congrats on your growing family! We adore you Cassie and we admire your strength. Blessings.”
The Fine’s welcomed their first daughter, Frankie, in 2019 — the same year they got married — followed by Sunny in 2021. Cassie, 38, praised Fine’s fatherhood during Father’s Day last year with an admirable post saying, “There is just no one like you” alongside a video of him pushing their daughters in a double stroller. “I love you @alexfine44 Happy Father’s Day!!”
Ahead of dating Fine, Cassie was in a tumultuous long-term relationship with disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs from 2007 to 2018. In November 2023, she filed a lawsuit against Combs, accusing him of abuse and rape throughout their relationship. The lawsuit was settled one day later, but opened a can of worms for multiple individuals to come forward with similar allegations against him. Combs has denied all accusations.
In May 2024, CNN released hotel security footage from 2016 that showed Combs striking Cassie, knocking her to the ground, and dragging her down a hallway. He later addressed the footage in a social media video, stating, “It’s difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, sometimes you gotta do that. I was f**ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses.”
Days later, Cassie responded with a statement thanking supporters. “The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning,” she wrote. “Domestic Violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.”
Her husband Alex also showered her with support, publicly stating: “Men who hit women aren’t men. Men who enable it and protect those people aren’t men. As men, violence against women shouldn’t be inevitable, check your brothers, your friends, and your family. Our daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives should feel protected and loved. Hold the women in your life with the upmost regard. Men who hurt women hate women.”
The Bad Boy CEO is currently in jail awaiting trial following his September 2024 arrest on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
