Today (May 16) marks the fourth day Cassie Ventura is taking the stand in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial. The highly publicized court case consists of recalling unpleasant details from the years the two dated, with the recent round of questioning mentioning Diddy’s alleged affinity for baby oil.
From May 13-14, the “Me & U” singer shared her testimony and is now being cross-examined. While defense attorney Anna Esteva spoke to Cassie, she attempted to clarify previous situations that were mentioned.
“You would heat up the baby oil?” Estevao asked Cassie, as reported by Inner City Press’ Matthew Russell Lee.
“Yes,” she replied.

It’s worth noting that reports say prosecutors asked the R&B singer “some 20 times” about the baby oil being used in “freak-offs,” and Diddy’s defense objected to the frequency of it being mentioned. After a bench discussion, defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo made a joke after the judge agreed prosecutors might be approaching a point of overdoing the baby oil mentions: “I was going to say slippery slope.”
According to Business Insider, the prosecutor at one point told the judge: “I will not ask any more oil questions.”
The topic stems from a fall 2024 federal raid of Diddy’s home, where officers seized AR-15s, documents, and 1,000 bottles of baby oil.
The headline-garnering trial is currently taking place in New York City. It began as scheduled on May 5 with jury selection, although the defense has attempted to delay the court proceedings. Other witnesses like Dawn Richard and Aubrey O’Day are expected to take the stand.
