Reflecting on his recent success with Kusho Bani, the multi-award-winning rapper revealed that he actually prayed for a hit song during a Home Cell gathering—at a time when he felt his music career was slowing down.

“I was at a point where I felt like my career was slowing down, and I was literally surviving on businesses. I was lucky to have businesses that I own, but I realized that without the music, I couldn’t sell anything,” Cassper admitted.

Faced with this realization, he turned to prayer. During a session where people were sharing prayer requests, he boldly asked for what many might consider a small thing compared to life-altering prayers.

“I was like, ‘Yo God, can I please have a hit song?’ and everyone was laughing. But I put it out there. Nomuzi even joked, saying, ‘When you get the hit, please don’t leave us.’”

Little did he know, his prayer was about to be answered in a big way. “Two weeks later, Skuta Baba Remix dropped. Then a month later, Kusho Bani came out,” Cassper said, emphasizing that there’s no request too big or too small for God.

While some might chalk it up to timing, Cassper sees divine intervention in the way things unfolded. “A hit is a small thing—people pray for serious things like healing from cancer. And then I come and say, ‘Can I please have a hit song?’ and I got it. So big shout-out to Jesus Christ.”

Kusho Bani has quickly become a fan favourite, reaffirming Cassper Nyovest’s ability to make chart-topping music even after years in the game. And if his story is anything to go by, faith and persistence remain key ingredients to his continued success.
