Chris Brown has found a new kind of freedom and it involves roaming late night incognito.
The R&B veteran recently revealed that when he’s visiting different cities on tour, he quietly slips away from the spotlight and goes on solo excursions in disguise — not for fun, but for peace of mind.
While embarking on his Breezy Bowl XX World Tour, the R&B star took a rare moment to peel back the curtain on what keeps him grounded in the blinding lights of fame.
In an Instagram post from Amsterdam, Brown revealed: “Fun fact: I like to sneak out by myself when I’m in different cities,” alongside photos of himself dressed in all black while visiting the Dutch capital. “It helps me feel human and normal. That’s really important for my mental due to the fact that I just can’t walk around freely during the day. Keeps me grounded.”
For the 35-year-old performer, who’s been in the industry since his teenage years, having some sort of normalcy is more than a luxury. “Being secluded from some parts of everyday life activities will drive you insane being isolated all the time,” he added. “Cook, remain humble and grateful!”
Now celebrating two decades in music, Brown is taking the stage across the globe through summer 2025 — but his tour comes as his legal issues loom. Just last month, a London court granted him bail following charges of grievous bodily harm related to an alleged 2023 nightclub incident involving music producer Abraham Diaw. Allegedly, Brown struck Diaw with a tequila bottle.
His bail was set at $6,700,000 with strict conditions: surrendering his passport (except for touring), providing a permanent UK address, avoiding contact with the alleged victim, and steering clear of the club where the incident reportedly occurred. He was initially denied bail and held in custody following his arrest in Manchester but was later released and cleared to continue performing.
His next court appearance is scheduled for June 20, sandwiched between back-to-back shows in Cardiff and London. Take a look at Chris Brown’s candid post above.
