Ciara made her way to Trinidad and Tobago for the country’s 2025 Carnival celebration, ready to dance and have a good time. The 39-year-old took to Instagram to share a video of her “Chippin down di road” at the annual event. Sporting a bright blue feathered costume, the singer seemed to embrace the full traditions of the cultural affair.
“Chippin down di road with my @TenToOneRum cup & dancing with the people of Trinidad in Carnivale will forever be one of my most treasured moments!,” she captioned the clip. According to local news outlet Loop, the R&B star’s trip to the island might foreshadow a venture into Soca music in alignment with Ten To One Rum, which she co-founded and invested in with Trinidad-born founder and CEO Marc Farrell.
“Trinidad is so beautiful, it’s my first time here and it’s the best time. (Farrell) said we have to come down here and I’m like ‘we’re going’…this is just the beginning, it’s my first time but not the last,” shared the mother of four with reporter Beena Mahase. “I think we need a good soca song for Ten to One, that’s next on the list.”
Her colorful clip, soundtracked by Machel Montano’s “PARDY” caught the attention of not only her followers and fans, but also her husband, Russell Wilson.
According to Sports Illustrated, the NFL star took to Instagram to comment, “This my mating call I see… keep sippin’ on that @tentoonerum … Cinco goin’ to be on di way!” on the upload. Ciara responded, “Someone come take my husband’s phone please,” followed by crying laughter emojis.
“Carnival is more than a festival—it is a movement, a statement, and a legacy,” Minister of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts, Senator the Honourable Randall Mitchell shared with BET amid the 2025 festivities. “By preserving our past while embracing the future, we ensure that the heart of Trinidad Carnival remains authentic, ever-inspiring, and forever ours.”
