Clip Of Drone Intruding Drake’s Penthouse Turns Out To Be Ad For Stake

Drake has had some weird interactions with fans throughout his career, so his latest video shooing a drone away from his penthouse seemed par for the course. However, there were some specific details in the video that made people believe it could’ve been a staged advertisement for a specific platform — which is exactly what it was.

The visual opens with a drone facing Drizzy’s laptop and a glass of liquor before he walks out, gets startled, and attempts to throw a shoe at it. The drone manages to evade the flying shoe, takes a wide-view shot of his Sydney penthouse, and then backs away to show even more.

Are fans weird enough to try and get a drone recording of what happens at the Toronto superstar’s penthouse? Absolutely. However, the placement of the drone facing his laptop — which just so happened to be on a gambling website — had many people questioning the validity of the video. The 6 God is a known sports bettor and has had a deal with Stake for years, with his recent Instagram post confirming the video to be a staged ad.

“The stakes are high,” Drake wrote in his latest Instagram caption. “But so am I.”

He included a screenshot of him throwing the shoe at the drone, a photo of him wearing a Stake shirt, Anita Max Win Tour merch, and a clip of Big Daddy Marc singing “Nokia.” This could be a coincidence, or this could be him letting the world know that he is in on the joke. Stake also commented under one of the many viral posts with an inspector emoji, further cementing the belief that they are all in cahoots. Nonetheless, it has created funny memes and clips, which is common for the five-time Grammy winner over the last year.

He is riding a wave of positivity after a trying year due to the release of $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, his collaborative album with PARTYNEXTDOOR which came out on Valentine’s Day (Friday, Feb. 14). The 21-song, 74-minute project featured Yebba, Chino Pacas, and Pim.

It is currently projected to sell 250,000 album-equivalent units in its first week and debut at No. 1; that would be Drake’s 14th No. 1 album and PND’s first. Listen to $$$4U below.
