It’s not news that a lot of significance has been attached to the age of 40. Even popular sayings like “A fool at 40 is a fool forever”, “Every man over forty is a scoundrel”, “Life begins at 40”, etc, are made regarding the age.
Forty is the age many expect a person to get serious with life, settle down, build a life and family. Automatically, 40 comes with a lot of pressure and expectations from many who look up to them as role models.
No pressure, but here are popular Nigerian men in the entertainment industry who are over 40 and have never been married.
Azubuike Michael Egwu professionally known as Zubby Michael is a Nigerian film actor and film producer.
He was born on February 1, 1985, in Anambra State and attended Nnamdi Azikiwe University where he obtained a degree in mass communication.
Zubby Michael’s relationship status has been a topic of speculation and discussion, particularly with actress Sharon Ifedi. The actors have been linked romantically, due to photos and videos they have shared online.
Zubby and Sharon have worked together in several Nollywood movies and projects, further blurring the lines between their professional and personal lives, however, neither has addressed the rumours.
There have been other actresses who have been rumored to have been romantically involved with Zubby Michael, such as Mary Okoye, Destiny Etiko, Regina Daniels, and others. The 41-year-old is very much single is all we know.
Chief Enyinna Nwigwe is an actor, producer, and entrepreneur born on 18 September 1982.
Raised in Obiangwu, Ngor Okpala, in Imo State, he studied economics at the University of Calabar.
The fantastic delivery of movie roles has earned him accolades as well as speculations of being in relationships with his colleague at different instances.

43-year-old Denrele refuses to address rumours surrounding his sexual orientation, saying that he enjoys the mystery.
He has, however, stated that he would like to settle down and get married when the time is right.
In an interview on January 21, 2023, recounted how his ex-girlfriend broke up with him on Valentine’s Day. In another interview in 2021, Denrele revealed he has dated only women and he hated the only time he tried to date a man.

Nonso Diobi made his acting debut in 2001 but gained critical acclaim following his role in Across the Bridge
(2005). Over 23 years in the film industry, Diobi has been in over 150 Nollywood movies and won multiple awards.
In a 2021 interview with BBC News Igbo, Diobi stated that he is interested in getting married someday. The actor claimed only a few women would be patient with his actor lifestyle, which often involves a lot of travel. He stated that he was dating someone whose identity he wouldn’t reveal, and they were trying to figure out how it would work for them. It’s been over four years, and we are yet to hear wedding bells ring.
Asides marriage, Nonso Diobi welcomed a son in November, 2019 but nothing is known about his child’s mother.
Asked why he is still single at 48, Nonso Diobi laughed off the question in a 2025 interview.
