Dr. Heavenly Kimes of Married To Medicine has entered her political era.
The reality star has revealed her campaign for Georgia State Senate, announcing her candidacy on the Democratic ticket for Georgia State Representative in District 93. The news was exclusively shared by PEOPLE Magazine, which noted her former Married To Medicine costar, Quad Webb, as the campaign manager.
“I’m not a career politician. I’m a mom, a doctor, a business owner — and I’m not afraid to stand up for what I believe in,” detailed the 54-year-old in a statement. “I’m running to serve, and I’m ready to work.”
“Our people deserve real representation, someone who understands both the struggles and the solutions,” she continued.

Outside of reality television, Dr. Kimes works in dentistry and is attributed as one of Atlanta’s leading providers by Bravo. She is also credited as an author, inspirational speaker, business powerhouse, and relationship expert. With a specialty in cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Kimes is a member of the American Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Implant Dentistry, the National Dental Association, and the Georgia Dental Society.
The rookie politician has a Historically Black College or University educational background. Dr. Kimes graduated at the top of her class with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Meharry Medical College and earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with minors in chemistry and military science from Florida A&M University.
She and her husband, Dr. Damon Kimes, have been married for 27 years and have three kids and three dogs.
According to her official campaign website, the issues relevant to her platform include access to healthcare, criminal justice reform, education, and the economy.
“I’m Dr. Heavenly Kimes. A mother. A doctor. A businesswoman. And now, a candidate for State Representative in Georgia’s District 93,” exclaimed Dr. Kimes on Instagram.
“I’ve seen firsthand how our communities are being left behind — in healthcare, education, entrepreneurship, and justice. I’m stepping up to make sure our voices are not only heard, but respected under the Gold Dome.”
