Druski has proven over the last few years that he is no ordinary internet comedian—earning the title “modern anthropologist” from some of his fans. “The WhiteBoy That’s Accepted By The Hood,” his latest social media skit, supported that moniker literally as it went viral this past weekend.
The 30-year-old actor’s longevity is clearly due to his willingness to fully commit to his characters, no matter how ridiculous. Thus, his latest skit had classic written all over it when it opened with him playing the role of “Preston,” a white-skinned man sporting a beanie, designer t-shirt, sagging ripped jeans, and Jordans.
Throughout the sketch, he exchanges secret handshakes with Black gang members, dances in the street while smoking, broadcasts live on Instagram telling viewers that he was raised in the hood by a local Black man he called “Unc,” and freestyles while omitting the N-word, assuring his crew that he did not say it even though they knew what he meant.
The peak of the skit featured Druski driving on the highway and rapping along to Migos’ 2017 record “Deadz” which notably features the N-word a lot; each time it comes on in the song, he goes silent and places a finger in front of his mouth to once again indicate his inability to repeat the word.
There is another scene where his fake girlfriend posts him on her Instagram story as they hug one another romantically, with Mariah The Scientist’s “Burning Blue” playing in the background. The video concludes with him walking into his parents’ home for dinner and being berated for using Ebonics. Watch and laugh above.
The comedian’s new work has already racked up over 1.5 million likes and will likely become part of his skit canon, joining his mob boss-esque Coulda Been Records label executive and other consistent characters he cycles in and out. Check out some of Druski’s other classic skits below.
