Every Melanin Moment That Stunned Miami Swim Week Runways

From sun-kissed gold to velvety bronze tones, the runway shows at Miami Swim Week 2025 were soaked in melanin and dripping with confidence. And this year’s list of shows made one thing crystal clear: beauty isn’t defined by size, shape, or a certain pigment.

The week of May 28–June 1 was packed with standout runway moments, including Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer Swimwear debut and collections from Sports Illustrated, HartiSwim, Oh Polly, Cupshe, Salty Mermaid Swim, Supermodels Unlimited Magazine, Monday Swim, Azulu, Luli Fama, and more. Emerging designers like Aventura Swimwear, Mariella Swimwear, and BOLDE Wetsuits also hit the runway, pushing the industry forward with collections designed for every body — literally. Across the board, the shows celebrated curves, championed inclusion, and proved once again that when women — especially Black women — take over the runway, we bring the heat.

The catwalk was filled with all kinds of representation from celebrities and published models, to first-timers. Speaking of first-timers, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles stunned the Sports Illustrated show with her sculpted frame and gymnast skills, as Megan Thee Stallion closed out Paraiso Miami Swim Week in a head-turning silver one-piece from her inaugural swim line.

Thank you to my team for making my first runway show be so special and amazing!” Meg wrote of her moment. “Thank you to all my beautiful models for showcasing my collection so beautifully with lots of positive energy. I can’t wait to keep growing in this space I’m so excited for what’s to come!”

Chiles, too, had an exciting reaction to walking her first swim week. “this ain’t Texas, wait…. we in Miami turning up another notch,” she captioned her post. “Thank you @si_swimsuit and @mj_day for giving me this amazing opportunity to walk in my first swim week!!!!”
