These disputes have captivated the public’s attention, highlighting the complexities of fame and the personal dynamics of celebrities.

1. Burna Boy vs. Cubana Chief Priest

The year commenced with a fiery online feud between Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy and socialite Cubana Chief Priest. The altercation began when Burna Boy referred to Cubana as the “Owerri Rick Ross” and later labeled him an “Azaman,” insinuated involvement in illicit activities. Cubana retaliated by accusing Burna of purchasing luxury items on credit and alleged that he had paid Burna N1 million to perform at his birthday celebration.

The tension escalated when Burna Boy offered $30,000 to Cubana’s alleged brother, a phone repairer, and suggested lifting Cubana’s baby mama out of poverty. Cubana responded by accusing Burna of stalking him, citied a video where Burna shared footage of someone driving through his neighborhood in Ikoyi, Lagos, tagged the Nigerian Police and alleging threats to his life and family .

2. Spyro vs. Paulo and Ubi Franklin

Rising artist Spyro found himself embroiled in disputes with music executive Paul Okoye (Paulo) and talent manager Ubi Franklin. In an interview, Spyro revealed that while signed to Iyabo Ojo’s record label, he was in significant debt and criticized Paulo’s management style, claimed a lack of presence and support. Paulo’s daughter Vanessa countered, stated that the label made no profit from Spyro’s tenure.

Spyro also accused Ubi Franklin of using his name to secure performances without proper compensation, alleged that Franklin had arranged a show with Davido’s backing but failed to pay him. Ubi Franklin denied the allegations, but the public feud intensified, with Spyro vowing to seek justice .

3. Blessing CEO vs. Saida BOJ

Relationship expert Blessing Okoro, known as Blessing CEO, reignited her feud with social media influencer Saida BOJ in 2025. The rivalry began in 2024 and resurfaced when Blessing CEO allegedly body-shamed Saida BOJ. Saida responded by bringing Blessing’s parents into the conflict, claimed they had given her away in marriage due to poverty.

The exchange escalated with both parties airing personal grievances, drawing significant attention on social media platforms .

4. Fido vs. Inner Circle Entertainment

Emerging artist Fido publicly criticized his former marketing team, Inner Circle Entertainment, and distributor Cidar Africa, accusing them of financial mismanagement.

He alleged that the company received $15,000 for marketing his tracks but reported only $5,000 to him. The dispute highlighted issues of transparency and exploitation within the industry, with Fido claiming he was being controlled and deprived of earnings. Inner Circle Entertainment denied the allegations, asserted that all expenses were properly documented and communicated .

5. Asake vs. His Family

In March 2025, singer Asake faced public scrutiny after a video surfaced showing his ailing father pleading for financial assistance. Asake’s response on social media, suggesting dissatisfaction with his father’s demands, led to accusations from extended family members, including claims of neglect and demands for compensation.

The situation was resolved when Asake reconciled with his father, who confirmed that the issues were being addressed and expressed gratitude for the support .

6. Timi Dakolo vs. Pastor Femi Lazarus

Gospel singer Timi Dakolo engaged in a public dispute with Pastor Femi Lazarus after the pastor criticized the high booking fees of gospel musicians. Timi challenged the pastor to name the specific artist in question, leading to an exchange where Timi accused Pastor Lazarus of commercializing the gospel by charging for ministry services. The tension was eventually resolved when both parties, along with Pastor Emmanuel Iren, shared a photo together, signaling a truce .

These feuds reflect the complex interplay between personal relationships, public personas, and the pressures of fame in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
