Funke Akindele, Wumi Toriola, Falz, Odunlade dominate Nollywood’s 2024 highest-grossing actors, actresses

Nollywood stars Funke Akindele and Wunmi Toriola have emerged as the highest-grossing lead actresses of 2024, according to FilmOne, a leading movie distribution company.

Folarin Falana better known as Falz and Odunlade’s Adekola took lead on the highest-grossing actors list as well.

The announcement was made via FilmOne’s official Instagram page as well as Funke Akindele’s Instagram page late on Tuesday night, January 28.

It revealed that Akindele claimed the top spot with her blockbuster, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’.

Wumi Toriola secured the second position for her role in ‘Queen Lateefah.’

Toyin Abraham took the third spot with her film ‘Alakada Bad and Boujee’, while Tomike Adeoye followed in fourth place for her performance in ‘Ajosepo.’ Eniola Ajao rounded out the top five with Beast of Two Worlds: ‘Ajakaju.’

Kehinde Bankole earned sixth place with her portrayal in ‘Funmilayo Ransome Kuti,’ while Adunni Ade secured seventh for ‘Lakatabu’. Uche Nwaefuna landed in eighth with a trio of films: ‘Thinline, Silent Intruder’, and ‘The Betrayed’.

Regina Daniels ranked ninth, and Gbugbemi Ejeye completed the list in tenth for her role in ‘Farmer’s Bride’.

And for highest-grossing actors, Falz took the top spot for his role in ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’.

Coming in second is Odunlade Adekola for his role in a quartet movies — ‘Beast of Two Worlds’, ‘Lakatabu’, ‘Alakada:Bad and Boujee’ and ‘American Japa’.

Kunle Remi earned the third spot for his role in ‘Muri & Ko’ and Queen Lateefah. Timini Egbuson clinched fourth place while Uzor Arukwe was fifth on the list.

AY Makun’s ‘The Waiter’ had him on the sixth spot while Deyemi Okanlawon ranked seventh.

Coming closely behind Tobi Bakare secured the eighth spot, Tomiwa Tegbe was ninth and Akah Nnani rounded off the list.
