Diddy was acquitted of his racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges this week, which naturally led to many people sharing their opinions on the entire case. Funk Flex recently got blasted on the internet for ranting in response to the verdict about Cassie and her behavior over the last few years.
The Hot 97 personality shared a photo of a statement from Cassie’s lawyers highlighting her strength and courage following the verdict. He opened his Instagram rant by acknowledging what the 38-year-old artist has dealt with since a young age, commending her character, and wishing her and her family peace as they process their pain. “THE ENTERTAINMENT [BUSINESS] IS A DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT THAT EVERYONE IS NOT BUILT FOR!” he wrote.
In the rest of this post, his tone changed drastically. “I DO THINK YOU AND YOUR LAWYERS SHOULD GIVE IT A REST!” he added. “YOU THREATENED TO DROP A BOOK THEN GOT PAID OUT TO NOT DROP THE BOOK! ( IF YOU CARED SO MUCH TO GET YOUR MESSAGE OUT YOU WOULD OF DROPPED THE BOOK) I GET IT… ITS A CASE.. YOU HAD TO TESTIFY… YOU 30Mil UP AND 10Mil UP FROM HOTEL!”
Flex continued by saying the “Me & U” singer was attempting to get her “lick back” on Puff and that he did not see her as a victim. “YOU WAS YOUNG, DIDDY MADE BAD CHOICES AND YOU MADE BAD CHOICES!” he wrote. “WHEN DO U PLAN TO TEACH GIRLS NOT TO MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES YOU MADE? JUST MY OPINION! @cassie.”
The 56-year-old DJ’s timing was questionable, and his statement comes off as defending the controversial mogul. People in Flex’s Instagram comments let him have it for such a tone deaf rant. “I pray for y’all daughters. Ya ni**as need help for real,” one user wrote. “Now lets hear the message to him. When does he plan to teach young men to keep their hands to themselves,” another user wrote.
One commenter believed that Flex’s thoughts are mirrored by several other people, and should encourage women to have the means to protect themselves. “Ladies this caption prime reason you need a license to carry send them to their maker @ her was diabolical,” they wrote. “Now would you feel the same way if it was your daughter , Mother, sister, cousin, best friend ??????????” another fan asked.
