Future Hendrix may need to wear a name tag tonight, as the Atlanta artist made his way to the 2025 Met Gala with a new haircut, leaving him unrecognizable to many.

The rapper born Nayvadius Cash was photographed exiting his hotel ahead of the exclusive charity event Monday (May 5). While his look felt like a casual take on this year’s “Tailored For You” theme, it was his hair that really caught fans’ attention, as his signature locs appear to have been cut and/or combed out into a short afro style. See the new look from Future below.

Fans of the rapper immediately began sharing their disbelief that it was actually the “March Madness” artist, with one writing via X/Twitter, “No way this Future,” followed by a crying emoji. Another observer questioned, “Wait… Who?…. What’s with his hair?” while third fan shared, “I need the dreads back ASAP.”

The 2025 Met Gala has already created headlines thanks to Teyana Taylor’s Harlem Renaissance-inspired Dandy look, co-chair LeBron James’ absence, and Rihanna’s third pregnancy. With this new look, the “Like That” artist is sure to stir conversation, as well.

Future has also attended several Met Gala’s in the past. Check out snaps from his previous Met appearances below.
