HaHa Davis joined Druski in comedians being the talk of the internet this past weekend, though their reasons were vastly different. The 32-year-old personality was reportedly released after being arrested for domestic violence allegations, and reacted in an Instagram video.
Davis was taken into custody on Friday (May 23) in Utica, Mich., and booked into Macomb County Jail. He was later released after posting a $5,000 bond. Details on the domestic violence allegations have been scarce, but his latest Instagram video makes it seem as though they aren’t serious from his perspective.
The visual features him and Melly, a woman he has made several videos with, sitting on an airplane together. She explains how it is their first time traveling together, but he insists that she cannot record him because he works for the airline. “Only thing we do domestic is flights,” he wrote in his caption, tagging Melly. In the comments, he added, “From mug shots to back shots” and fans quoted sone of his signature lines to celebrate his supposed freedom. “Bond man bond man please free me,” one user wrote. “Jail Man, Jail Man yeah that’s me!” another user added. HaHa Davis found a way to turn the negative press into an advantage, for now, but it likely won’t compare to what Druski accomplished over the weekend. He highlighted his character, Preston, a white boy who grew up in the hood, in his latest social media skit.
Preston hung out on the block with gang members, smoked weed, freestyle while omitting the N-word, and went home to his disappointed white parents. One of the funniest parts of the skit was when he was driving on the highway while rapping along to every word of Migos’ “Deadz,” except for the N-word, once again.
