Nollywood sweetheart Bimbo Ademoye has opened up on the betrayal she experienced from a so-called friend of hers.
In a recent candid Instagram post, the award-winning actress opened up about a shocking fallout with a former friend who once aspired to be an actress.
What started as a wholesome story of support and sisterhood took a wild turn involving fashion sabotage, fake Instagram accounts, and even an attempt to flirt with Bimbo’s then-boyfriend.
According to Bimbo, she used to help this friend get dressed for events, from clothes, shoes and hair to makeup. The 34-year-old made sure her ‘friend’ looked the part of the superstar she dreamt of becoming.
Despite already being an established actress with films like Sugar Rush and Backup Wife under her belt, Bimbo says she never hesitated to uplift her friend.
But one particular movie premiere changed everything. Bimbo Ademoye recounted:
“One day, I had a premiere to attend, it was movie I was in and I played the lead role. My stylist had done fittings for me like twice in the presence of this friend. I had asked her what she was going to wear and she was like “I don’t even know, maybe l’d just look casual chic” I responded with “just look good o, you can’t be my friend and look drab”. I got my makeup done, hair done, everything done. It was time to wear my dress..”
So imagine Bimbo’s shock when her supposed friend showed up to the premiere wearing the exact same dress she had chosen but in a different color.

The betrayal didn’t stop at fashion. According to Bimbo, her friend went on to create a fake Instagram page to troll her and even sent disturbing messages to Bimbo’s then-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, she allegedly tried to romantically pursue him behind Bimbo’s back. She continued:
“Tell me why this daughter of jezebel created a fake page on ig and started trolling me and sending messages to my boyfriend at the time saying all sorts. The craziest part, she even tried to link up with him romantically 😂🤣🤣.”
While Bimbo didn’t name the person, the emotional impact of the betrayal was loud and clear. She confessed she didn’t realize how toxic the relationship was until her sister intervened, urging her to see the situation for what it was — jealousy masked as friendship. Bimbo wrote:
“It was as if something woke up in her that day. Every event we attended, she’d always want to dress or look more expensive (which I didn’t mind) ON MY TAB.”
Bimbo ended the post teasing that there’s more to the story, which she might share later. For now, she directed fans to watch her new show “To Be A Friend”, streaming on Bimbo Ademoye TV, which ironically explores themes of loyalty and betrayal. See screenshot of post below:
