  • 2Baba, the legendary Nigerian music icon known for his timeless hits and magnetic stage presence, recently found himself back in the spotlight, but this time, for the complexities of his personal life.
  • Kenny Ogungbe, a pivotal figure in 2Baba’s rise to stardom did not hold back in new interview as he described how they tried to prevent the temptations of stardom from overshadowing the singer’s music.

Nigerian music executive and CEO of Kennis Music, Kenny Ogungbe, has opened up about the efforts his record label made to steer 2Face (now 2Baba) away from the temptations of fame, particularly his well-documented relationships with women.

In a recent interview on The Honest Bunch podcast, Ogungbe revealed that during 2Baba’s time with Kennis Music, the label actively worked to keep the rising star away from the attention of women.

Ogungbe admitted that young 2Face was a magnet for female admirers, but Kennis Music took measures to shield him from these distractions, denying him access to the women who were eager to get close.

However, once 2Face left the label, Ogungbe admitted they had less control over his actions, and the singer’s womanizing became more prominent in the public eye.

His word;

When 2face was with us [at Kennis Music], we prevented him from seeing girls. Girls come to look for him all the time but we didn’t allow him see any of them but when he left our record label, there was nothing we could do about the situation anymore.

“Even when he was becoming the butt of the jokes of some comedian [for being a womaniser], I didn’t call him to question him because he’s a matured man. Every man has his cross.”
