- L.A.X has opened up on his past relationship with a particular lady that he was dating.
- The singer revealed in a recently released interview that while she cheated on him, he ended up begging her not to breakup with him.
Nigerian singer Damilola Afolabi, also known as L.A.X, has shared how he once begged his girlfriend to stay after she cheated on him.
In a candid conversation with Chude Jideonwo, L.A.X recounted that his girlfriend returned home intoxicated, and he discovered through her phone that she had been unfaithful while out.
The singer said that when he confronted her, she claimed the person she supposedly cheated with was only a friend. He stated he was begging her not to end the relationship instead of scolding her for being unfaithful. In his words:
“I was dating this girl, she came in drunk and I held her to the bed. She even threw up. I checked her phone and I saw, ‘I enjoyed this night so much. I think we should do this again.’
“As I showed her the phone, she just looked at me and said, ‘He’s just my friend. We just spent the night.’ Trust me, it was me that was now begging. I said we can work it out and she said, okay, don’t worry,”
In 2023, L.A.X disclosed how his dad bankrolled him despite being signed to Starboy label boss, Wizkid’s record label.
L.A.X revealed that his Billionaire dad intervened on his contract with Wizkid’s Starboy record when he was at the label.
The Ginger crooner on the Echo Room audiovisual podcast hosted by Quincy Jonze asserted that his deal with Starboy Record was a partnership and not a recording deal.
He explained that his dad provided funds for his musical projects, and then his label boss, Wizkid, channelled the funds to the right marketing means.
L.A.X added that it was Toyin Lawani who introduced him to Wizkid by playing his songs for him.
