The divorce between former NBA star Iman Shumpert and singer-actress Teyana Taylor has taken another contentious turn.
According to court documents obtained by Complex, Shumpert is now accusing Taylor of violating the terms of their finalized divorce agreement and is asking the court to consider 20 days of jail time and a $1,000 fine for his ex-wife over the alleged breaches.
Shumpert alleges that Taylor “willfully and contemptuously exposed and broadcast specific provisions of the final judgment decree of divorce and related provisions, recklessly disregarding the financial circumstances, privacy, safety, and security of the parties and their minor children.”

The court motion claims Taylor’s actions have had a harmful impact not only on Shumpert, but also on their two young daughters.
The filing details several alleged incidents, including verbal outbursts in front of the children. “For example, in the presence of the children, [Teyana] has shouted crude and inflammatory racial insults at [Iman],” the motion reads.
“Such insults and criticism of [Iman] have caused the children to unjustly suffer stress and worry, unfairly placing the children in the self-imposed position of peacemaker between their parents.”

Shumpert further asserts, “Insulting [Iman] in the presence of his children was maliciously intended to damage the relationship between father and child. Denigrating and insulting [Iman] in the presence of his children is a … violation of the orders of this court.”
This latest development comes just weeks after Taylor filed her own motion to find Shumpert in contempt, accusing him of leaking sealed divorce documents to the media in an effort to tarnish her public image.

However, Taylor, who initially requested that Shumpert be arrested and sent to jail as a result of the allegations, has since stated that she no longer wants her children’s father to be imprisoned.
The escalating legal battle between Shumpert and Taylor continues to unfold publicly, as the co-parents work towards an amicable resolution for all parties involved.
