A young artist with big dreams, Nigeria-hailing Interludetheartist‘s new EP, ILY INTERLUDE, is ambitious.
ILY INTERLUDE is an amalgamation of different genres and influences. Following a skit, the album opens with “Lights”, a remnant of the R&B/pop sound mastered by The Weeknd. The contemporary sound can be seen again subtly on “Ease My Mind”, an Afrobeats track featuring Zoriiann.
Afrobeats, as well as dancehall, are dominant genres on ILY INTERLUDE with the merging of the two worlds shining on “Chameleon Riddim” – while themes of love and the challenges it presents, stand out alongside “Jangolova” .
On his first full length project, Interludetheartist succeeds in introducing himself formally to the world with an EP that ticks all the boxes for commercial success in the current musical landscape.
