Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s youngest daughter, Kaavia James Wade, is already showing signs that she’s ready to follow in her mother’s footsteps.

The 6-year-old confidently declared her big screen dreams at her kindergarten graduation last week. In a TikTok shared by Union on Monday (June 23), Kaavia could be seen strutting to the podium in her yellow graduation cap and stole where she told the crowd what she wants to be when she grows up.

Without hesitation Kaavia answered, “I would like to be an actor,” before blowing a kiss to the cheering crowd and strutting off the pedestal with diploma in hand. Union captioned the video: “Caught Kaav in 4k, but trust me, I can’t make this up.”

The Wades also shared a photo of Kaavia in her full graduation regalia, along with other snaps of her spending time with her parents on Instagram.

“From brave beginnings to big milestones, Kaav, you’ve learned, grown, and blazed your way through kindergarten. Next up: 1st grade — and a whole new world of discoveries!” the post’s caption reads. “The journey is just beginning, and we’re seated right beside for the ride.”

Union and Wade, who welcomed Kaavia via surrogate in 2018, also share a blended family including Wade’s children Zaire, 22, and Zaya, 17, with ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches, and a son Xavier, 11, with Aja Metoyer. The retired NBA star also is the legal guardian of his nephew Dahveon Morris, 21.

Union recently opened up about another big milestone coming soon — college. While attending the 2025 Met Gala in May, the actress told PEOPLE that she and Wade are feeling all the emotions as they prepare for Zaya to head off to college in the fall.

“Scared but excited for her,” Union said, noting that Zaya will be majoring in astrobiology. “We haven’t been able to help with homework since the fourth grade, but we’re excited for next year.”

This school year also has been special for the family, as it marks the first time Kaavia and Zaya have attended the same school. Union shared that Zaya makes time during her busy senior schedule to stop by and share moments with her little sister.

“It’s funny because Zaya’s a senior and [Kaavia’s] in kindergarten at the same school,” the 52-year-old shared. “And so during Kaav’s lunch, Zaya comes and hangs out with Kaav. And this is really special that they’re at the same school, at least for one year.”
