Over a menacing instrumental by Bigfootinyourface, Nigerian emerging Afro-dancehall-reggae fusionist Kold AF taps gritty, assertive rapper Prettyboy DO for a braggadocious performance that doubles as a warning with ‘4GET IT’.

Hailing from Southern Nigeria, Kold AF, legally born Aninooritsewarami Oritsesan, aims to make a statement with her newest release and first single of the year. The audacious, cautionary track is an anthem of well-thought-out choices—from production to Kold AF’s guest pick in Prettyboy DO, known for his energetic and intense delivery style, to the record’s arrangement.

4GET ITopens with the blasting sound of trumpets reminiscent of a school band, trailed by the powerful, foreboding vocals of Prettyboy DO before exchanging with Kold AF’s dancehallesque delivery: “When they see me come, they better know say my eye red, Head dey choco, stay fi ya lane, put eye for your own, But if you want smoke, I’m ready, let’s go”. With equal vehemence, Prettyboy DO commands the hook, drowned in Bigfootinyourface’s hard-hitting bass: “Me no like to tell you, take it as a warning, If I start to para, my niggas them go worry”, he chants repeatedly, cradled in Kold AF’s adlibs of “forget “4GET IT”.
