- Taking to Instagram on Friday, the actress reshared the exciting news with photos and a video of her in her gown, appreciating the US university for the honour.
Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has officially joined the ranks of doctorate degree holders.
WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the renowned actress received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Arts and Humanities from the American University of Peace and Governance (AUPG), USA, on November 30.
The actress has now confirmed the news, sharing photos from the conferment ceremony on her Instagram page.
She announced that it is now official to address her as “Hon. (Dr.) Laide Bakare,” expressing gratitude and dedicating the honour to her commitment to governance, leadership, and service to humanity.
Laide’s heartfelt caption read:
“This honor bestowed on me as a Doctor Of Arts & Humanities (Honoris Causa) by the American University of Peace and Governance, USA, is a motivation geared towards dedication to Governance, leadership, and service to humanity. I am using this medium to appreciate His Excellency, Amb. Dr. Jonathan Ojadah, Chairman of the Supreme Council of American University of Peace and Governance, USA.”
The mother of three thanked her family and paid tribute to Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, whom she described as her mentor and a source of inspiration.
She praised his strong support and dedication to national development, noting his passion for the growth of Osun State. The mother of three added:
”I am dedicating this honor in appreciation to my creator, friends, family and fans all over the world. Special Appreciation goes to my Principal, Father and mentor, His Excellency, Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke @aadeleke_01 for your unwavering Support and passion for the growth & development of Osun State which is worthy of emulation.
Your legacy for Nation Building and National Development across the entire Country is a testament which I lean on and I am not taking this for granted.
