Lamar Odom has admitted why he chose to immortalize his ex-wife, Khloé Kardashian, in the form of a sex doll.
On the latest episode of the We’re Out of Time podcast, the former NBA star shared that the doll was created for his mental health.
“When you’re really thinking about it, [it’s] like a doll, but then you think about like, mental health, and how important that is, not just in today’s time, but just from the beginning of time. A sex doll that looks like your wife is about mental health,” Odom explained.
He continued, “It’s sick, but I think we’re all a little off, a little weird. They’re gonna make it to look like her. I need like, a harem.”
When speaking about their current relationship, Odom shared that he and Kardashian aren’t in frequent communication, but he noted, “She still cares about me. I don’t speak to her [but] I can text her and she’ll reply.” He blamed their distance on “life.”
He and his reality star ex wed on Sept. 27, 2009, just one month after they met. However, their marriage fell apart in 2013 after he relapsed and cheated on her. Kardashian filed for divorce that December. The divorce papers were signed in July 2015, but in October, he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel.
He became comatose and remained hospitalized for months. She called off their divorce proceedings and aided him in recovery. He was ultimately discharged and their divorce was finalized in December 2016.
That was the same year she began dating Tristan Thompson. They welcomed their daughter, True, in April 2018 and their son, Tatum, in August 2022.
Over the years, Odom expressed regret towards how he treated his ex-wife and declared that he was “going to try my damndest” to reconnect with the Good American co-founder in February 2022.
In a confessional from Celebrity Big Brother, Odom shared, “I would probably just want to take her to dinner. It would be a blessing just to be in her presence to just tell her I’m sorry and what a fool I was. She has the right to never see me again for the things I put her through, but time moves on and people change. I would say I’m a lot more loyal now.”
Kardashian isn’t currently dating anyone. “I don’t need anyone,” she stated on The Kardashians. “When I’m at the place when I wanna date, I will. And trust me, if I like the person, I’ll publicize it!”
