The latest feud between Diplomats members Cam’ron and Jim Jones has caused Maino to speak up, with the “All The Above” rapper clarifying Killa Cam’s story about his confrontation with Capo.

The 51-year-old artist appeared on Way Up With Angela Yee to set the record straight. “The song he’s talking about is the song that put me in the game, ‘Rumors,’ where I was talking about all the rumors in the industry,” he said. “The thing about that is I mentioned [Cam’ron] in the song; I didn’t mention Jimmy. Jimmy didn’t like me [because of that] so when we saw each other, we would have these ‘face fights,’ but nothing ever happened.”

He continued, explaining how the confrontation went from his perspective. “We were in Atlanta and we had a conversation,” he said. “He didn’t approach me and press me or none of that. We had a conversation. It wasn’t spectacular, nobody swung. Once we started to talk and realized that we had things in common, we were cool from that point on. We’ve been way cooler than we were [enemies] because we didn’t know each other. That was a long time ago.” Maino admitted they had tension that needed to be addressed, but denied the situation getting heated.

Cam’ron first told this story after Jones called him and 50 Cent “d**kriders.” He addressed his Dipset comrade during an interview with Justin Laboy, and Cam responded on It Is What It Is.“Ever wonder how he met Maino? Maino gonna downplay it ’cause they cool now,” Cam said. “He tried to press Maino ’cause Maino first came out with a little record where he said a ni**a’s name.”

The Come Home With Me rapper’s story detailed an intense situation between the two, which DJ Envy later corroborated and added that Maino tried to pull out a gun on Jones. “Jim walked over, with all the dudes in front of Maino, and Maino went in his jacket like he had a gun,” The Breakfast Club host said. “And when he fake pulled out like he had a gun, the club scattered. Everybody cleared out.”

Cam’s issue with Jones was the fact that he had such vitriol for his fellow group member who stood by him, but would easily resolve issues with people outside of the group. “Every ni**a that do something to put pressure on you, you sit there and work it out,” he said. “But when ni**as got genuine heart for you and don’t put hands on you, then you can keep going on and on. That’s the pattern.”
