A Georgia man convicted of a chilling murder that left his own child motherless erupted in a fit of rage during his sentencing, spitting at prosecutors as a judge handed down a life sentence with no possibility of parole.
Taco Nash, 25, was sentenced on Wednesday (July 2), in a DeKalb County courtroom to life without parole, followed by two additional life sentences and an additional 60 years to serve.
The sentence follows Nash’s conviction in the brutal June 15, 2022, killing of his ex-girlfriend, Mi’ckeya Montgomery, with whom he shared a daughter. The two were said to have a “tumultuous relationship that included previous violent incidents,” according to the DeKalb County District Attorney.

At the time of the murder, a court-issued no-contact order was in place, and daycare staff had been instructed to alert police if Nash was seen near the premises.
But on that June morning, Nash violently forced his way into the daycare facility, abducting Montgomery and their baby at gunpoint. He then took them to a wooded area nearby, threatening to shoot Montgomery in the face.
As officers closed in on the location, a single gunshot rang out. Authorities discovered Montgomery dead with a gunshot wound to the head. Nash emerged from the woods holding the blood-covered child and claimed Montgomery had taken her own life.

However, officials later ruled the death a homicide, noting that the murder weapon—found beneath Montgomery’s hand—was likely planted by Nash in an attempt to stage the scene.
He was found guilty on multiple charges including malice murder, four counts of felony murder, aggravated assault – family violence, two counts of kidnapping, aggravated stalking, cruelty to children in the first degree, and multiple firearm offenses, according to the District Attorney.

Montgomery’s aunt, Jasmine Walters, told WSBTV, “Today was the day that they got to see the real him. The rest was a facade … he’s a sociopath.”
“He’s right where he needs to be,” Montgomery’s family added following the sentencing.
Despite the overwhelming evidence, Nash remained defiant in court. “I will be back-to-back on appeal to prove my innocence,” he said, also accusing the jury of being biased against him.
