Marc Lamont Hill didn’t hold back during a tense moment on Piers Morgan Uncensored this Tuesday (May 6) when the conversation took a racially insensitive turn.
The former CNN contributor sharply called out Piers Morgan after the host encouraged a white guest to “say the N-word” during a heated discussion on race. The incident began when panelist Lilly Gaddis admitted that she uses the racial slur “quite frequently” and expressed her desire to live in a society where people can speak without shame.
In response, Morgan urged Gaddis to say the word aloud. “Well, go on then, say it. Go on. Go on. Say the N-word,” he pressed.
Hill, visibly frustrated, immediately snapped back, accusing Morgan of inviting “racial harm” to escalate the show’s ratings. “No, no, no, no! I don’t want you to invite this woman to say a racially harmful term in front of me, because I’m the only ni**a on here. So if she says it, I’m the victim of it,” he shouted. “Please don’t invite her for ratings to call me the N-word because that’s basically what it’s going to be.”
The tension escalated when Hill directed a racial slur at fellow panelist Myron Gaines, calling him an “Uncle Tom” and continuing his impassioned rebuttal. “There’s a bunch of white people up here and one Uncle Tom on the left here,” he continued, before expanding his point. “You would not sit here with a Jewish person and say, ‘Please use a Jewish slur in front of this Jew.’ It’s ridiculous. I understand you don’t have any bad intent, Piers. I understand what you’re trying to do. But we already know she’s a racist and I don’t want to invite racial harm to me to prove it.”
Realizing the gravity of the moment, Morgan said, “I hear you and I accept that and we’ll leave it there. Thank you all very much.”
