There are presumably moments when being a famous person’s child is cool and others when it is too much. Mariah Carey recently gave her 13-year-old son the latter when she popped up on his Twitch stream and caused him embarrassment.
Moroccan Cannon, 13, was vibing with his chat this past Thursday (April 3) when his family decided to join the fun. “Sorry, chat,” he said after briefly muting his microphone. “My mom is here.” His twin sister Monroe and the legendary singer eventually walked into the frame, and Moroccan invited her to get closer to the camera when his viewers reacted to seeing her. “Hi you guys, I love you too,” she said, responding to the flood of messages.
The “We Belong Together” artist was holding a dog, but evidently, they all overstayed her welcome because Moroccan’s energy quickly shifted. “Y’all need to get out, now,” he said. “Everybody get out.” His sister lingered for a bit, and he grew even more annoyed. “Get out of my room!” he yelled.
Moroccan Cannon, who goes by the username curlyhairrocky, doesn’t run away from his famous ties on the platform, so something like this was probably inevitable. “Yes, I am Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s son, please stop asking,” he says in his About page. One X user acknowledged his reality compared to how viewers perceived the situation, writing, “This is so funny because mariah carey is one of the greatest singers of all time and to bro she’s just an embarrassing mom.”
While he may not want the five-time Grammy winner on a stream any time soon, he has invited her into his gaming world in other ways. “I was watching my son play Fortnite for the longest time, and then he taught me how to play,” Carey told People last year after working with the popular battle royale game.
Moroccan and his twin sister Monroe were born in 2011 while Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were still married. The couple eventually divorced in 2016.
