MashBeatz Unveils The Genesis Of Upcoming Single “Nobody” Featuring Nasty C & Usimamane. In an exclusive interview on 5FM, acclaimed South African producer MashBeatz, alongside his frequent collaborator Wordz, delved into the creative process behind their forthcoming single, “Nobody,” featuring hip-hop heavyweight Nasty C and rising star Usimamane.
MashBeatz recounted the inception of the track, highlighting the organic collaboration with Nasty C. “I hit up Nasty cause we have been working back to back,” he shared. “So I was just like, hey man, I need one from you. So we just set it up, and I had a bunch of beats actually, and I put these beats first. This beat was not even number one, but I put it first because I knew, like, something would happen. So as soon as we played it, he was just like, ‘hah, let’s go.’ He just started freestyling.”
The collaboration didn’t stop there. MashBeatz revealed that Usimamane’s involvement came after a trip to Dubai. “There’s a time I went to Dubai with Usimamane, and then I played him this song, he just went crazy like, ‘Can I jump on this song?’”
Usimamane’s addition to the track is a testament to his rising prominence in the South African hip-hop scene. His debut album, 20th: Days Before Maud, released in 2024, achieved significant success, reaching number one on Apple Music’s Top Album and Hip-Hop Album Charts in its first week. His unique blend of rap, trap, and R&B has garnered him a growing fan base and critical acclaim.
