Megan Thee Stallion may have broken one of the top rules from the 2025 Met Gala, but fans are thankful for her service.

The Grammy-winning rapper snuck her phone inside the reception, gifting Hotties everywhere an once-in-a-lifetime POV from the coveted event. In a video shared on Instagram Monday (May 5), Meg was seated with Angel Reese and Doechii as they tried out a few of the menu items, including “cornbread and caviar,” a “white truffle lobster roll,” and “vegan lox.”

The meal was curated by Chef Kwame Onwuachi, the visionary behind Tatiana in NYC and Dōgon in Washington D.C.. He explained to Vogue, “I was inspired by Black dandyism and the Black experience in fashion—it’s pulled from so many different avenues and routes of the diaspora. I wanted to encapsulate all of that, from the hors d’oeuvres to plated dinner at the gala.”

The outlet noted, “For the cocktail hour, guests were served hoecakes with crispy chicken, mini chopped cheeses, cornbread topped with caviar, and curry chicken patties. For the main event—dinner—the menu consisted of papaya piri piri salad, creole roasted chicken with lemon emulsion, rice and peas, and a fresh hot sauce, and a ‘Bodega Special Cosmic Brownie.’”

Elsewhere in the visual recap, Meg laughed with Tracee Ellis Ross while confessing, “We’re not supposed to have our phones, but we’re doing it [anyway].” As she was taking a selfie with Cynthia Erivo, Meg reiterated that she snuck her phone inside. She was also seen with Tessa Thompson, Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, Serena Williams, Michael Kors, and Ciara.

The Southern-bred emcee wasn’t the only person who snuck their phones in. Halle Bailey and Yara Shahidi were also reportedly using their phones. However, Questlove may have gotten the best and Blackest video of the night, as he and several celebs including Colman Domingo, Quinta Brunson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andra Day, Jeremy Pope, LaKeith Stanfield, Evan Ross, and more all posed for an iconic bathroom selfie.

Apparently, bathroom pics aren’t against the strict rules.

According to Vogue, “Guests must abide by a no-phone (and, therefore, no social media) policy once they’ve entered the museum” in an effort to “keep [what happens inside] largely under wraps.”

Attendees also have to abide by their seating arrangements and refrain from smoking inside. It’s been rumored that those who don’t follow the rules get banned. However, Teyana Taylor finessed Chick-Fil-A into the 2023 Met Gala and returned this year as host and co-chair. So, who says you have to follow the rules?
