Megan Thee Stallion’s Lawyers Say Tory Lanez Harassing Her From Jail

Megan Thee Stallion‘s lawyers claim that Tory Lanez is ramping up harassment of their client from behind bars. On Wednesday (Dec. 11), Legal Affairs and Trials with Meghann Cuniff reported that newly filed court documents state Lanez, né Daystar Peterson, has enlisted vlogger Milagro Cooper, also known as Milagro Gramz, “as his mouthpiece” to help spread misinformation about the shooting case online. Megan’s lawyers issued a subpoena to the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation to retrieve Tory’s jail phone calls, which they claim he has been using to retaliate against their client from jail.

In a phone call obtained by Megan’s attorneys, Tory Lanez and his father, Sonstar Peterson, are heard discussing Cooper’s role in helping “orchestrate” a harassment campaign against the Houston rapper, née Megan Pete.

“In one phone call, the Petersons confidently asserted that Ms. Pete would be unable to prove that Mr. Peterson paid Defendant for attacking Ms. Pete,” Megan’s lawyers wrote in the new legal filing.

“By consciously coordinating with Ms. Pete’s convicted assaulter to amplify Mr. Peterson’s disproven and baseless theories to help him seek retribution against Ms. Pete, Defendant engaged in extreme and outrageous conduct that has caused, and continues to cause, Ms. Pete severe emotional distress,” the complaint adds.

With the new filing, Pete and her team added a defamation claim to their case against the vlogger. Megan also signed a petition to prevent Cooper from using her YouTube platform “from committing any acts of stalking and providing any terms the court deems necessary for the protection of a victim of stalking, including possible law enforcement involvement.”

The Houston rapper’s filing also renders Cooper’s previous dismissal motion, filed in late November, as moot, with U.S. District Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga, the chief judge in the Southern District of Florida, denying Cooper’s motion on Wednesday.

Cooper’s motion claimed that Megan Thee Stallion was attempting “to intimidate and silence” and worked to prevent her from “exercising her First Amendment rights.” The vlogger claimed that Megan’s lawsuit was “a warning to other critics that if the Plaintiff does not like what you say about her, you will likely have to deal with a federal lawsuit.”

Milagro Cooper is being represented by the same lawyer working with Peterson in his appeal.
