Michelle Williams truly showed how to remain graceful under pressure this weekend as she was put in an awkward situation mid-air. The Grammy-winning vocalist and Broadway powerhouse took to Instagram on Saturday (April 5), to document a hilarious moment that probably would’ve went left for most people.

Williams, 45, uploaded a photo from her upgraded seat, showing a passenger’s bare foot casually intruding her personal space. Pressed against the wall of her cabin area next to her elbow rest, Williams didn’t hesitate to share the proof.

“I PROMISE YOU BETTA GETCHO FOOT FROM ME!!!! Y’all this is happening neowwwwwwww on my flight and I am crying real tears!!” she captioned the moment on Instagram.

Clarifying the scenario for those wondering if this was “back-of-the-plane” action, she wrote: “For those asking…….. YES I am sitting in the first class cabin……a lot of AUDACITY resides in that booking class……. OBVIOUSLY!! #seat3F the f is for feet.” And in a hilarious follow-up, she wrote, “I elbowed ‘it!’ Now I gotta take my coat to the cleaners.”

After escaping the foot fiasco, the Destiny’s Child alum continued to explain the saga the following day with a comedic video. In it, she joyfully announced her survival: “I made it out. I made it out,” she sang. But beneath the humor, the incident had clearly brightened her mood as she was returning to New York City from attending a funeral in Chicago.

“It tried to take me out,” she joked, recounting the surreal moment. “I said, ‘Wait a minute. Wait, wait, wait a minute.’ You ever think you see something out of your peripheral and you just blow it off?” That foot, it turned out, was no hallucination.

The “Heard a Word” singer also used the moment to address those who blamed the incident on the airline she chose. “It don’t matter to me what class you fly. I don’t care. I still like Southwest. You’re not going to shame me into whatever class it was,” she expressed. “So, people are like, ‘Well, you shouldn’t have been flying coach.’ I was flying first class. My seat was 3F and I didn’t know the F was gonna be for feet. I just can’t.”

“I almost was defeated. All is well. I made it back to New York City… Listen, y’all, I was crying real tears. I was crying real tears,” she wrapped her explanation.

Take a look at the foot-incident above.
