Moozlie Claps Back At Claim That SA Rappers Rely On “Bums” To Appeal To The Public

The star recently took to social media to shut down a claim that SA rappers rely on their bodies—specifically, their “bums”—to capture public attention. The controversy sparked after Moozlie shared steamy pictures of herself and fellow rapper Nadia Nakai on stage at a club, performing Nakai’s new single Isphithiphithi, from her latest album Braggacy.

The two artists, known for their undeniable stage presence, delivered an electrifying performance that had fans talking. However, one particular comment from a follower attempted to discredit their appeal, stating, “Our SA rappers can’t appeal to the public without bums.”

Moozlie was quick to set the record straight. Responding with a mix of humour and sharp wit, she said: “Don’t be ridiculous! These are Glutes… Not bums, please hey! Also, have you ever seen K.Keed’s or Kwesta’s ‘bums’??? In the words of my brother Reason, FOH!!”

Her response highlighted the absurdity of the statement, not only pointing out the double standard in the industry but also bringing attention to the fact that male rappers aren’t subjected to the same scrutiny. By mentioning K.Keed and Kwesta—two respected artists who’ve built solid careers without such commentary—Moozlie reminded critics that talent should always be the focal point.

The moment also sparked conversations about how female artists in hip-hop are often judged for their appearance rather than their artistry. Moozlie and Nadia Nakai, both known for their bars and business moves, continue to prove that their influence extends far beyond aesthetics.
