  • Just weeks after death ruthlessly tore Baba Gbenro from Mount Zion Films, his grieving family, and devoted fans, another dark shadow falls—Tolu Adegboyega, a beloved force in the Christian drama group, is reportedly no more.
  • The news hit like a thunderclap, disbelief gripping her followers as they flocked to her page, searching for a denial, a miracle, anything but the cruel truth.

The Nigerian gospel film industry has been dealt another heartbreaking blow with the reported passing of actress Tolu Adegboyega, renowned for her unforgettable portrayal of Flora in the acclaimed Abattoir movie series.

Tolu, known for her stellar performances and unwavering commitment to faith-based storytelling, had reportedly been fighting for her life since December 26, 2024, after a horrific car accident that tragically claimed the life of one of her twins.

Despite undergoing two critical surgeries and spending weeks in the Intensive Care Unit, reports indicate that the battle proved too much, and she succumbed to her injuries.

Burial arrangements are yet to be announced by her grieving family, while the Gospel Film Industry remains silent, yet to issue a formal statement on the loss of one of its finest.

Meanwhile, Tolu’s heartbroken fans flooded her comment section, their emotions swinging between disbelief, sorrow, and a fragile hope, clinging to the possibility that she might somehow return to debunk the devastating news herself. But their pleas were met with silence, and reality settled in like a dark cloud.

This reported tragedy unfolds just as the wounds of another painful loss remain fresh, the late Nigerian gospel actor Moses Korede Are, fondly known as Baba Gbenro from the iconic Mount Zion Abattoir series, who was recently laid to rest in an emotionally charged ceremony in Ogbomosho, Oyo State.

Baba Gbenro, the revered founder and International President of the Calvary Movies Drama Ministry, left an irreplaceable legacy in the gospel and entertainment community.

His sudden passing in November 2024 sent shockwaves through the industry, and now, with Tolu’s reported demise, the grief deepens, a cruel reminder of how fleeting life can be.
