Neo Ndawo steps in front of the mic again with the latest in a series of EPs titled Lingo. Lingo 3 is his newest and isn’t just a showcase of his talents, it’s a celebration of the vibrant Durban music scene too.
The EP serves as the perfect meeting of genres through the collaborative efforts of artists who came together to ensure that Neo Ndawo’s creative prowess shines through. Project opener, “Ksele Kancane” is sure to resonate with its message of hope, as well as the brilliant mix of hip-hop, trap and R&B – while “Anymore” focuses on the end of a relationship and features PATTFRONTHESLUMS.
A clear and stunning homage to kwaito and some of its giants comes in the form of “iJewish”. The jam packed song features a quintessential kwaito beat and pays tribute to classics such as “Pantsula for life” and “Dlala Mapantsula”. Aside from being middleground to a diverse and innovative EP, it’s also the highlight of Neo Ndawo’s effort.
The second half of the project rounds up that effort to not only uplift Ndawo himself but the artists around him too with a collaboration featuring up and comer, Yashna, titled, “By Any Means” – yet another affirmation of the fighting spirit that keeps that artist going.

Closing things off is “Lula”: a fierce and memorable push of all the genres explored throughout the EP, which hinges on sultry vocals and strong bars, and wraps up a project which is the ideal culmination of worlds and minds colliding in the making of something truly honest and creative.
