New Billboard Teases Upcoming Young Thug Album

Young Thug is staying true to his enigmatic nature and heightening anticipation for forthcoming album Uy Scuti. A new billboard has popped up, hinting at the possibility of his next LP dropping next month.

“UNIVERSE HAS BEEN TOO QUIET. UNTIL NOW,” the billboard read. “UY SCUTI.” At the bottom of the billboard, there is the number 5, multiple question marks, and then the number 25, which is seemingly formatted to allude to a mystery date within May 2025. It is possible that the two question marks could stand for a two-digit number, meaning anywhere between May 10 to May 31.

Nonetheless, this is the latest promotion for Thugger’s highly-anticipated first album since getting released from jail in October 2024. A few weeks ago, he attended a Miami Heat game with Mariah The Scientist and was gifted a jersey that said “Uy Scuti” on the back. Several fan pages have claimed that is the title of his next album, and the phrase refers to one of the biggest stars in the Milky Way.

Future, one of Thug’s most prominent collaborators, tweeted “UY SCUTI” last month in all caps, which created even more curiosity about it potentially being the album’s title. There may have been no more direct confirmation than Young Thug himself saying the name when he came across a fan who paid homage to him by tattooing his lyrics on his back.

“Horses don’t stop, they keep goin’,” the fan got in Black ink with three horses underneath. This was a major topic of discussion on the internet because the lyric from Thug’s 2016 “Digits” is actually “Hustlers don’t stop, they keep goin’.” The fan, John Nelson, told Rolling Stone that he intentionally tattooed the wrong lyrics and that the tattoo was inspired by the death of his close friend, his Young Thug fandom, and “Digits” triggering nostalgia.

Though Nelson got the wrong tattoo intentionally, many fans for years have believed the 33-year-old rapper was saying “horses” instead of “hustlers.” Thug addressed this on social media, writing, “And that’s [why] I’m talking with more clarity UY SCUTI. Dam bro.” Uy Scuti would mark the Atlanta rapper’s first album since 2023’s Business Is Business, which came out while he was still in jail for RICO charges. Listen to Business Is Business below.
