The 2025 Met Gala is upon us, with the theme of “Tailored For You” taking over the red carpet. Our favorite style mavens all brought their A-game, executing their pieces while considering the theme and its highlighting of the Black dandy, often visualized as an impeccably dressed Black man known for detailed suiting and classic silhouettes. The Met’s accompanying exhibit, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” also highlights these elements extensively.
Men such as Met Gala co-chairs Colman Domingo, Pharrell, A$AP Rocky and Lewis Hamilton showed up literally draped up and dripped out while many of the women in attendance, like Teyana Taylor, Doja Cat and Doechii, incorporated soft touches throughout their menswear-inspired looks, staying on theme while still expressing their femininity.
