“I love a party with a purpose. You gather, you fellowship, but there’s also a give-back component. I love that. Great music… Lastly, a very curated guest list. You want to make sure that you bring people who understand how to have a good time,” explained Niecy Nash-Betts to VIBE magazine of the perfect party at the start of her and Adrienne Maloof’s annual Christmas extravaganza, all of which the duo delivered.
Over the weekend (Dec. 21) the women hosted an exclusive guest list, welcoming a crowd to the Maloof Estate in Beverly Hills to collect toy donations for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
The lavish residence was decorated from top to bottom with Christmas decor ranging from Santa Claus and elves to gingerbread houses and an abundance of lighting. Inside, attendees enjoyed intimate seating while outside, food was served and music echoed through lively conversations.
Timed with a performance of Nash-Betts’ “Better Half,” Jessica Betts got the party started, encouraging most guests to move from the cozy inside quarters to the dance floor.
“I don’t have a dog in a fight when it comes to who the recipient is, as long as we are in the place of understanding that it’s bigger than us,” detailed the Emmy-winning actress of the philanthropic efforts that drive the purpose of the party.
