Odeal Takes Home ‘Best Newcomer’ and ‘Best R&B/Soul Act’ at The 2025 MOBO Awards

British singer-songwriter of Nigerian descent Odeal was a standout star at the 2025 MOBO Awards, marking his first ever MOBO wins by winning two prestigious awards: ‘Best Newcomer‘ and ‘Best R&B/Soul Act‘. Known for his genre-blending style that fuses Afrobeats with rich R&B vocals, Odeal was also nominated for Song of the Year for “Soh-Soh” from his ‘Sunday At Zuri’s’ EP.

His win for ‘Best R&B/Soul Act‘ acknowledges his artistry in the genre, boasting a remarkable discography with projects like ‘Thoughts I Never Said’, ‘Lustropolis’ and more. While the ‘Best Newcomer‘ award signifies his rapid ascent and potential for continued success.

The MOBO Awards ceremony, held on February 18, 2025, at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, England, celebrated Odeal’s exceptional talent and contributions to Black music.

Odeal’s win at the 2025 MOBO Awards speaks to his position as an artist to watch, with an imitable work ethic which has seen him consistently release music in the last three years. Particularly riding on the momentum of his viral hit single “Soh Soh” and his collaboration with Summer Walker on “You’re Stuck”.
