Omoni Oboli angrily calls out Ghanaian TV stations for unauthorized broadcast of her movies

  • In a statement posted on her official account on the photo and video sharing site, Instagram, the actress and filmmaker threatened to take legal action against the stations, accusing them of copyright infringement.
  • She also criticised the Ghana National Film Authority for failing to take action against the unauthorised broadcasts.

Nigerian movie actress cum filmmaker Omoni Oboli, has expressed her anger at Ghanaian TV stations for airing her movies without the necessary license.

The filmmaker in a post on the photo and video sharing platform, Instagram called out the Ghanaian local television stations, berating the Ghana National Film Authority for “failing to take decisive action against such unauthorized acts.”

While questioning the authority’s effectiveness, she threatened to take legal action against the offending TV stations.

Omoni Oboli emphasized the effort and dedication that go into producing her films and how her efforts is being exploited.
She also appreciated her Ghanian fans for sending her proof of her movies being aired on their TV stations. The actress wrote:

“I love my Ghanaian besties, colleagues, and friends, but you see those TV stations in Ghana, I’m coming for you! The guts to show my movies without licensing! If dem no arrest one of una, you won’t learn! Watch out! Coming for every one of you!

“You have no idea how much work goes into these projects. The sleepless nights I have! I’m coming for it all! You will pay for every one of my movies you have shown without permission! In 2025, you don’t understand that’s IP theft?!!!

“Maybe you don’t have a television authority in Ghana, but that is not my concern! Coming for you all! Clowns! Thanks to my Ghanaian besties for always sending me screenshots.”
