  • Jowizaza has been criticized over his outfit during his recently concluded traditional wedding.
  • The billionaire businessman wore a black outfit, accompanied by a black face cap in videos from the occasion.
  • Ovie Ossai while reacting to it expressed disappointment in Jowizaza as well as his in-laws who allowed the event take place without calling out the billionaire for alleged disrespect

Ossai Ovie Success, an aide to the Delta State government has taken a swipe at billionaire businessman, Jowizaza for wearing a face cap and a black shirt while receiving prayers from his in-laws during his traditional marriage.

WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the businessman’s traditional marriage rites with his woman took place on Thursday, November 28, and videos from the ceremony surfaced online last night.

Reacting to the videos, the Delta State governor’s aide claimed that the businessman disrespected the elders and traditions of the land by his choice of outfit.

Expressing his disappointment at how the businessman dressed to the occasion, Ovie Ossai also knocked Jowizaza’s in-laws for not rectifying the situation before praying for him. He wrote;

“I am disappointed in Jowizaza for wearing face cap while receiving prayers from his inlaw during his traditional marriage.
Money should not make us disrespect our elders and traditions.
Also disappointed that he wore black instead of the Igbo traditional attires.

I am happy that my brother from the south Jowizaza is getting married but sad that he disrespected his Inlaw by wearing a face cap while receiving prayers from his inlaw.

This act is considered an ins*lt in our culture, especially during significant events like marriage introduction and bride price payment.

Furthermore, Jowizaza’s decision to wear black instead of traditional Igbo attire is disrespectful to our heritage.

In Igbo land, it is customary for the groom to wear traditional attire, not pure black, which is often associated with mourning.

I also question the in-law and elders present for not addressing Jowizaza’s attire.
As custodians of our culture, they should have ensured that he removed his face cap and dressed appropriately before receiving prayers“
