Pastor Jerry Eze, the founder of New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) and lead pastor of Streams of Joy International, has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
In an Instagram post on December 23, Pastor Eze shared his initial skepticism upon receiving the offer, admitting that he thought it was a scam.
“I truly thought I was being scammed when I was first contacted…but serving Jesus isn’t a scam!” he wrote, expressing his gratitude and excitement for the prestigious recognition.
Pastor Eze, who holds a bachelor’s degree in History and International Relations from Abia State University, attended the convocation event with his wife, Eno Eze.
The honorary doctorate was one of the highlights of the ceremony, with Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah also receiving an honorary Doctor of Law degree.
In his post, Pastor Eze thanked his followers for their kind words and support, while wishing everyone a joyous year-end.
His online prayer meetings, NSPPD, have gained global attention, reaching millions of participants worldwide.
