Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been accused of attacking government officials in Ogun State, sparking public outrage.

The incident allegedly took place at his bar, Odogwu, in Iyana Ilogbo, Ogun State, after Portable allegedly assaulted officials from the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA), who were carrying out their official duties.

According to a detailed account shared by a popular influencer, @man_of_letters, on X (formerly Twitter), a team of government officials had arrived in the area several days ago as part of a routine monitoring and auditing operation.

The operation, which involved officers from the OGPDPA and local planning officers from Ibogun and Otta, was meant to assess building structures within the region.

While the officials were working across the road from Portable’s bar, the influencer claims that the singer harassed them, although the full extent of the confrontation was unclear at that time.

The situation took a more serious turn the following day when the officials returned to Portable’s establishment.

According to the report, they met with Portable’s father, who was informed of a notice about the alleged illegal structure on the property.

The officials reportedly gave him a deadline within which Portable could challenge the notice if he had the appropriate documents to prove the legality of the structure.

However, the situation quickly escalated when Portable, accompanied by a group of area boys riding Okadas (motorcycles), arrived at the scene.

The officials were allegedly confronted and attacked as they attempted to leave the bar.

The singer reportedly ordered his riders to block the officials’ escape route, preventing them from leaving the premises.

Portable, according to the report, went on to physically assault the government workers.

The officials tried to flee for safety, but the singer and his entourage pursued them.

The officials eventually sought refuge at a nearby petrol station to escape further harm.

The violent incident reportedly triggered a police response, with law enforcement arriving at the scene and arresting several individuals believed to be involved in the assault.

Despite these arrests, Portable himself was not apprehended, as the singer is believed to be in hiding.

The authorities are now reportedly keeping a close watch, as it is expected that Portable will be arrested if he makes a public appearance.
