Ray J and Princess Love have had a chaotic relationship, including four separate divorce filings. This past week, things got so tense that the police had to get involved and took the “One Wish” singer into custody.
TMZ reported that the 44-year-old singer returned home from the Millennium Tour and got into an argument with the actress. The exchange escalated to the point where she called the LAPD, claiming that he was aggressive, yelling, and potentially under the influence. When the cops arrived on the scene, they put the Moesha actor in handcuffs and held him in the back of the squad car.
Once the situation was de-escalated, the police took down a domestic violence incident report, but determined that there was no crime committed, and thus no reason to arrest him. They eventually took Ray J out of the handcuffs and released him, and the father of two could be heard on video thanking the cops for how they handled the situation.

Ray J and Princess Love have been married since 2016 after starring in Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood together. They share two children, Melody Love and Epik Ray, who were born in 2018 and 2020 respectively. May 2020 was the first time the couple filed for divorce, only to request the filing be dismissed two months later. They filed again in September 2020 and October 2021, ultimately calling both divorces off, as well.
The most recent filing came February 2024. “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our decision to divorce. After much reflection, discussion, and counseling, we have come to the difficult realization that our paths have diverged, and it is in the best interest of both of us to part ways,” Love wrote on Instagram in a since-deleted post.
“We want to reassure you that this decision was made thoughtfully and with mutual respect and consideration for each other’s well-being. While our relationship as spouses may be coming to an end, we remain committed to co-parenting our children and maintaining a positive and supportive family dynamic.”
