The upcoming Realme number series smartphone dubbed, the Realme 9 series could be right around the corner. Regrettably, Realme fans will have to wait with bated breath until next year to get their hands on the Realme 9 series smartphones. Realme attributes the delayed launch to the current chip shortage crisis.
Last week, a report suggested that the Realme 9 series will comprise four variants including the Realme 9 Pro Plus, 9 Pro, Realme 9, and the base model. Now, the base model will reportedly carry the Realme 9i moniker and will succeed the well-received Realme 8i. To recall, the Realme 8i went official in India not too long ago. Fresh information from ThePixel suggests that the phone will launch early next year. Moreover, details about the Realme 9i specifications have already been leaked.
Realme 9i Launch Timeline
The Realme 9 series will reportedly make its debut with the Realme 9i smartphone. If a recently surfaced report is anything to go by, the Realme 9i smartphone will launch in January 2022. Noted tipster Chun claims that the company’s original plan was to launch the Realme 9 and 9 Pro smartphones first.

Aside from that, Realme is still mum on the launch details about the Realme 9i. Nevertheless, some earlier reports suggest that the phone will sport a 6.5-inch IPS LCD that delivers an HD+ resolution. Moreover, the phone will reportedly pack a MediaTek Helio G90T SoC under the hood. Also, it is likely to ship with 8GB of RAM and offer 128GB of onboard storage capacity. The RAM and storage configuration will depend on the region.
Moreover, the phone houses a quad-camera setup at the back. This rear-mounted camera setup features a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and two 2MP sensors for macro photography as well as depth sensing.
