Titled “The Chant,” the song features powerhouse collaborators Dee Koala and Gemini Major, and its official audio release on March 20. Released under Sony Music Entertainment Africa via Riky’s label Anolabex (Pty), this posthumous single is a testament to the enduring spirit of a man who reshaped SA hip-hop.

The song is a standout preview from Riky Rick’s forthcoming posthumous album, Boss Zonke Forever, set to hit shelves next month. It’s a celebration of resilience, hustle, and the unapologetic pride Riky carried for his craft and his culture.

Opening with Riky’s commanding voice—“ Aweh eh eh, weh eh eh, I work hard, I work hard”—the track sets an electrifying tone. His verses drip with the confidence of a king reclaiming his throne, boasting lines like, “I am the king of the block, Louie Bag, that’s a lot / You tryna get what I got, you claiming it’s real but it’s not.” It’s classic Riky: bold, stylish, and unflinchingly real.

Dee Koala storms in with her unmistakable flow, bringing an edge that complements Riky’s flair, while Gemini Major’s production ties it all together with a beat that’s equal parts hypnotic and hard-hitting.

Fans have taken to X to express their awe. One user posted, “Riky Rick’s voice on ‘The Chant’ feels like he’s still here, guiding the game. Dee Koala and Gemini Major brought their A-game—this is fire!” Another wrote, “Hearing Riky say ‘I go hard’ in 2025 is a whole vibe. Boss Zonke Forever is about to shake the streets.” The sentiment is clear: this isn’t just a song—it’s a movement.

The release comes three years after Riky Rick’s tragic passing in February 2022, a loss that left a void in the industry he helped define. Known for hits like “Boss Zonke” and “Sidlukotini,” Riky—born Rikhado Makhado—was more than a rapper. He was a visionary, a fashion icon, and a mentor who championed new talent, from Dee Koala to The Big Hash. Boss Zonke Forever promises to be a love letter to his fans and a tribute to his unparalleled influence, with “The Chant” serving as its electrifying herald.
