SABC 3 announced today, 15 September 2020, that many of their high-profile shows have bagged nominations for the Content Innovation Awards which is scheduled to be held in London in December 2020. The shows have been honoured for their unique formats which have built a solid viewership which allows them to compete on the global stage.
The nominees are Tropika Island Of Treasure: Curaçao under the Entertainment Format of the Year category, Presenter Search on 3: Expresso Edition under the Reality TV Format of the Year category, The Next Brand Ambassador and The Taste Master SA under Competition Show of the Year category, and The Expresso Morning Show for under the Best Use of Social category.
In particular, Tropika Island Of Treasure: Curaçaogarnered major recognition in 2020 for its esteemed cast. The latest season included media personalities such as Nadia Jaftha, Ntando Duma and Simphiwe Ngema.

Shows of this nature invite regional participation and are expensive to produce but thanks to our sponsors, we were able to materialise them with such high production values and opportunities. These shows have not only done well for the SABC but the prizes were life-changing for the winners in each series and will have a long term impact on their careers and we are thrilled to see these productions get the international recognition they deserve.
